February 3, 1994 - June 4, 2008.

Markie was the grand-dam of the household and lived to be over 14 years old. She was the first true "winner" (although not the first champion by any means). Owner handled to her championship (as are most of our dogs) and to multiple group wins, she embarked on an incredible journey that included #1 Kuvasz (all breed points), four all breed Best in Shows (including back to back Bests), two Westminster Best of Breed wins and a Westminster Working Group 4 (second time ever for a Kuvasz). Three National Specialty Award of Merits followed and finally her career was capped with a glorious National Specialty Best of Breed win from the Veterans class at age 9 1/2. Markie retired after winning the National Specialty and lived out the rest of her life as our main house dog. Markie was even asked to pose for the cover of a catalog with one of her grandpuppies. Look under News, Announcements and other Brags for copies of the issue featuring her. Markie is gone but will remain in our hearts forever.

is a Markie daughter and had a remarkable career following in her mother's footsteps. She was a five time all breed Best in Show winner, won Best of Breed at Westminster 3 times and became the third ever Kuvasz to place in the Working Group at Westminster (also a Group 4). She won an Award of Merit at the 2000 National Specialty and followed with the National Specialty Best of Breed win in 2001. Image has embarked on a career in Agility and Obedience and lives with her co-owners in Chicago where she continues to wow the crowds at performance events. She was honored as top dog in her breed in agility for 2007 and 2008. Image and Markie are the breed's only mother-daughter BIS, BISS and Westminster Group Placers. Image is a daily visitor to her owner's business "Integrative Pet Care" where she can be found working out on the treadmill or swimming in the therapy pool. Visit her at www.integrativepetcare.com

December 4, 1999 – July 29, 2009

Whim was purchased as a pup in 1999 from Double Ring Kuvasz. The goal was to infuse some new blood into the lines of Mauna Kea and Whim brings with her a super white wavy coat and dark pigmentation. Whim was bred twice (to Shiraz) and produced large litters of very sound and typey pups. Whim lived with one of her co-owners at Greer Farms Kuvasz until her passing.

is one of the offspring of Shiraz and Trouble. A double Markie granddaughter, Bonus has a lot of the same traits as Markie. Bonus finished her championship at 15 months in five show weekends from the Bred-By Exhibitor class and has matured into a beautiful Kuvasz with a very correct headpiece.  She is very athletic, carries plentiful bone and coat and her outgoing personality makes her the “life of the party.”  Bonus is our house-Kuvasz respectfully stepping in and trying to fill Markie’s shoes.

is from the “Heart” litter born in January 2010. Lyric’s dam is Essie (a double Markie granddaughter) and her sire is Cargo from Rebel Ridge Kuvasz. She has combined the best of both parents and is beautiful and typey with a bright white coat and dark pigment and an incredible temperament. She is light on her feet (although is often leaping in the air) and has a mind of her own. Following in a Mauna Kea tradition Lyric attended the 2010 Golden Retriever Club of America National Specialty where she had her own meet and greet every time she went out into the crowd. She has already found a place in our hearts and I’m sure she will in yours too! Lyric debuted in the show ring in January 2011 (fun match) and in limited showing has a Working group placement, 3 Bred-By Exhibitor Working group placements and was Winners Bitch and Best of Winners at the 2011 National Specialty
